I asked my mom if she wanted to play Dragon Age: Origins. I told her it was basically a playable book/movie, and that she can smooch on whoever she wants. She agreed, and last night we played all the way through her prologue and a little bit into Ostagar.

She is a female human rogue with a background as a noble. She said if she was going to be whoever she wanted, she wanted to be royalty. She likes the idea of using a bow because, “Katniss is awesome”. However as soon as Howe’s men broke into her room she expressed the need for a sword to stab people with.

She’s mostly nice, but likes to choose wacky dialogue sometimes just for the reactions. Also, don’t be mean to her dog. Nan was referred to, and I quote, “that stupid bitch who doesn’t like my puppy”. Her death was followed by glorious cheering.

She didn’t want to sleep with Dairren (because he is ‘ugly’), and wished she could have slept with Ser Gilmore. (Also showed interest in Fergus until she realized that was her brother.)

I just think the idea of getting parents to enjoy video games with their kids (*cough* or 23 year old sons) is a great idea.
